What is a neck and face lift?
When you have excessive sagging in the face and neck, a lift is the best treatment option to address it.
A neck and face lift significantly improves your appearance by restoring skin tone and facial contours, providing a rejuvenated and vibrant look that time may have diminished.
The lift varies depending on the areas of the face to be improved, with a focus on the most affected regions, the placement and extent of the incisions, the use of complementary techniques (such as eyelid surgery, cheek augmentation, among others), and the duration of the operation.
What does the procedure involve?
The technique used at the Instituto Dra. Ana Torres for a face lift involves repositioning the muscular layers, skin, and fat, removing excess tissue through an incision that typically begins above the ears (within the hairline).
This incision extends into the natural creases of the ear, continues around the earlobe, behind the ear, and into the scalp. This way, the scars remain well hidden, improving your appearance and helping you regain lost confidence.
In some cases, additional liposuction of the neck is necessary, and sometimes the neck muscles need repositioning, resulting in a 3 cm scar just below the chin.
The following day, before discharge, drains and dressings are removed, and the hair is washed. An elastic bandage is applied to relieve tension on the wounds, to be worn for 8 days (at least 8 hours daily).
In the days following the procedure, bruising and swelling may appear, which will gradually diminish.
