What is buttock augmentation surgery?
Buttock augmentation surgery is a procedure aimed at enhancing the size and shape of your buttocks using techniques such as fat transfer (lipofilling) or hyaluronic acid injections.
At the Instituto Dra. Ana Torres, we also offer implants to achieve optimal and long-lasting results. The effects are immediately visible, although the final outcome is realised after a few months, as the swelling subsides and your body begins to reveal the definitive results.
What does the procedure involve?
For buttock augmentation surgery, we offer two treatment options: buttock implants or fat transfer using the patient’s own fat, harvested from various body areas.
In the case of buttock augmentation with implants, the procedure is performed through a hidden incision in the intergluteal fold. The implants, specifically designed for this area, are placed intramuscularly or subfascially depending on the patient’s needs, achieving significant enhancement with very natural results.
In the case of fat transfer, fat is harvested from areas such as the abdomen, thighs, or hips, then purified to remove impurities and blood cells before being injected into the buttocks, as agreed with the patient.

Generally, the recovery period in the clinic after buttock augmentation surgery is 24 hours. However, each case is unique, and the specialist at the Instituto Dra. Ana Torres will provide the appropriate instructions that each patient must follow rigorously to achieve the best results. You can typically begin sitting after approximately 36 hours. Upon leaving the clinic, you will only wear a dressing over the incision and a light compression garment.
Post-operative care after buttock augmentation surgery includes using antiseptics in the perineal area for one week. Stitches are removed after 15 days, and you can resume sports activities one month after the procedure. Natural results become visible after 2 months, fully consolidating by 6 months.
