Are you concerned about the increasing sagging of your face and/or neck and want to restore its elasticity and firmness? If so, you are in the right place! 🙂 At the Instituto Dra. Ana Torres, we offer several treatments to improve both areas, among which thread lifts in the neck stand out.

What exactly are thread lifts or PDO threads?
Absorbable thread lifts are threads made from a surgical material called PDO (polydioxanone), and they come in different shapes and lengths to allow for various treatments.
Basically, we find:
- Basic threads
- Screw threads or spiral threads
- Barbed thread lifts or anchor threads
If we only want to improve the skin by creating a mesh of basic threads in the neck, periocular area, or cheeks, we can visibly reduce fine wrinkles while also improving skin texture and thickness.
If we aim to lift the eyebrows or improve deeper wrinkles such as those in the nasolabial fold, we should use screw or spiral threads.
And if we require a clearly more lifting or tightening effect, we will use barbed or anchor thread lifts, which are already inserted with a cannula, thereby avoiding bruising or pain during placement.
The effects of thread lifts last between 9 and 12 months, depending on their thickness. As a general rule, their use does not cause any complications, although there may be some initial discomfort caused by skin traction, which disappears with a gentle massage. Technology has enabled thread lifts to evolve significantly, both in terms of ergonomics and ease of application for the doctor, as well as in reducing discomfort and improving the effectiveness of results for patients.
Absorbable PDO thread lifts are an alternative to surgical lifting, achieving a result similar to a soft facelift. Don’t hesitate any longer and rejuvenate your skin without going through surgery! Contact us if you need more information; we will be happy to assist you.
