Breast reconstruction

Revitalize your femininity and confidence

What is breast reconstruction?

Breast reconstruction is an alternative for patients with breast cancer, the most common type of tumor among women in our society, and one that has many implications for the physical and psychological health of survivors.

In many cases, breast cancer treatment often involves mastectomy or removal of the breast, resulting in the loss of one or both breasts for the woman who suffers from it.

This procedure not only restores a lost organ, but also helps to recover femininity, self-image, psychological balance and contributes to mitigating the shock of the fight against cancer, which for a survivor is the greatest of victories.

What breast reconstruction techniques can be used?

DIEP flap surgery
The DIEP flap technique uses abdominal tissue to create a natural-looking breast without implants. This advanced, microsurgical method, which does not affect muscles or cancer treatment, is recommended for its high quality and permanent results. The operation lasts at least 6 hours, and recovery requires a high level of commitment from the patient to achieve the best results.

Tissue expander method
This method involves the temporary placement of a dilatable implant that is gradually filled with fluid, creating excess skin. Subsequently, in a second surgery, a silicone prosthesis is inserted to form the breast. A third procedure reconstructs the areola and nipple under local anesthesia. This entire process is carried out in consultation with the patient and according to her goals for the procedure.

Latissimus dorsi flap
This procedure replaces missing skin after a mastectomy by moving skin from the back to the chest through a tunnel in the armpit, along with the latissimus dorsi muscle, which provides essential blood vessels. The surgery takes only 2 hours. The resulting scar is hidden under a bra or swimsuit, so it won’t affect your appearance, and the results will be natural.
