This is how she (Montse) shares it on her weblog <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lipedemadiary.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.lipedemadiary.com:<\/a> <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Montse discovered us through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/institutodoctoraanatorres\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Instagram <\/a>(where another of our patients shared her highly positive experience at our clinic), and she obtained the consultation phone number from the \u201cContact\u201d section of our <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/institutoanatorres.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>. At that time, we scheduled her appointment for mid-December 2018. <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"967\" height=\"964\" src=\"https:\/\/institutoanatorres.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/experiencia-paciente-lipedema-instituto-dra-ana-torres-barcelona-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19470\" srcset=\"https:\/\/institutoanatorres.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/experiencia-paciente-lipedema-instituto-dra-ana-torres-barcelona-1.png 967w, https:\/\/institutoanatorres.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/experiencia-paciente-lipedema-instituto-dra-ana-torres-barcelona-1-480x479.png 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 967px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During her first visit, Montse shared her previous experiences with various specialists, the tests she had undergone, and other information she considered relevant to her case.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We informed her about what lipedema means for affected patients in terms of its physical consequences, and we also exchanged views on the lack of information about lipedema treatment within the public healthcare system, as well as our efforts to make it more visible through talks and the publication of several articles about lipedema on our <a href=\"https:\/\/institutoanatorres.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">blog <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/institutodoctoraanatorres\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we usually do with lipedema patients who come to our clinic in Barcelona, during the same visit Montse left with confirmation that she could undergo surgery and with an explanation of the process we would follow with her:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A total of 4 surgeries would be performed, starting with the calf area (carried out in early February 2019), followed by the inner thighs, then the back of the thighs, and finally the arms.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Why did Montse decide to undergo WAL liposuction at the Dr. Ana Torres Institute in Barcelona to treat lipedema?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Montse, the answer is \u201cvery simple\u201d:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 The training and experience of our medical team in lipedema<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 The technique used (<a href=\"https:\/\/institutoanatorres.com\/water-assisted-liposuction-wal-en-el-tratamiento-del-lipedema\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WAL liposuction<\/a>) and the fact that we have been performing it for years.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 The reputation of the center where the surgery is performed (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.teknon.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Teknon Medical Center<\/a>) and the facilities it provided to Montse, especially in terms of transportation.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 The fact that our team is made up of women \ud83d\ude42 (according to Montse herself: \u201cThat they are women is a plus; although it may seem like a small detail, I liked the way they treated me and their empathy towards the disease. That is why I would recommend them without any doubt\u201d).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, she also highlighted in her article about her lipedema surgery the personal care provided by Dr. Ana Torres and the closeness she continues to show to this day, saying that \u201cI have her close for anything I may need\u2014diets, medication, dietary recommendations, and to update her on how I am feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Montse concludes her article by encouraging those affected by lipedema in Barcelona to visit our clinic if they wish to address their condition, extending the same message to those affected by lipedema in Madrid and other areas across the country, as there are currently various transport and accommodation options available.
